After over 40 years of Service the KC-10 Extender aka “Big Sexy” is going to fly its last mission. HHYC is proud to have members who flew the KC-10 and Member that worked on the KC-10 at the former McDonell Douglas factory in Long Beach.
This event is open to all HHYC members, former KC-10 Crews and Families as well as anyone from McDonnell Douglas that worked on the KC-10 team. Scott Bourquin will have a slide show of photos from his time in the KC-10, and if you have photos please e-mail him so they can be added.
UPDATE SEP 25th – AMC and 9th ARS Commander say there will be no “flyover” and the mention of it has been removed from the press release. The reason given was the timing requirements of a DV event at Davis-Monathan AFB. One enroute approach to LGB would add 12- 15 minutes depending on traffic. We are aware of a second request for a flyover at March AFB as well. Those two approaches would delay the event at Davis-Monathan AFB over 30 minutes. HHYC is still planning to open the bar and host a gathering for those that built and crewed the KC-10. If you have RSVP and wish to cancel please call the club at 562-592-2186 or email Scott.
